Advertising on Your Sites

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

I’ve been talking recently with another website owner just up the coast from us about advertising on websites. We’re acting for a couple of clients who want to buy some advertising space on his celebrity website and we’ve been interested to hear of his thoughts on where he wants advertising on his site to go.

We’re also interested because we’re thinking of taking advertising on some of our sites beyond the usual Adsense and CPA ads. Don’t get me wrong, those forms of advertising were fine when we were building the sites up but now that they’re getting decent page views, but now that the sites are really starting to hum we want more.

That’s why we found this post over on Shoemoney’s blog so interesting.

Nothing to Worry About

It’s hard to believe that I haven’t stepped in here for a whole two weeks … but then our small business has just gone ballistic in those with new clients and work for old clients and those two weeks have just whizzed by.

But here I’m back and I want to know if you think that all the affiliate advertising you see in online newspapers these days is any sort of threat to your attempts at affiliate marketing?

There certainly is plenty of advertising around … but is it really having any affect on people see the advertising while reading the online news? Off Target Ads is an interesting take on advertising from a journalist’s point of view.

Think About Your Target Market

Sunday, June 3rd, 2007

Regardless of what sort of marketing you’re doing … whether it’s face-to-face, web-based, media advertising or whatever … who is your target market?

Have you even stopped to consider who will be looking at, watching or listening to your marketing? Does it really matter?

You bet it does and A Tale of Two Cultures is a ‘must read’. It might be talking about search engines and websites but there is a lot of food for thought there for everyone.
